Offering a large vintage Papier/Paper Mache Cat -- artist signed on bottom Mateos - Tonala Jal - Mexico. Jalesco is renowned for Sermel, the art group cofounded by Bustamante.

Adorable "Fat Cat" blending Mexican folk art sensibility with Mid Century Mod.

Beautifully painted. Delicate and whimsical profusion of botanicals decorate the body -- giving added meaning to the iconic "Flower Power" mantra of the day.

In very good vintage condition -- minor paint loss on the back of the head. Minor wear commensurate with age. Colors are bright and vibrant. Finish retains lustrous glaze. Please refer to photos as they are part of the description.

LARGE impressive size, measuring approximately 14 1/2" long, 12" tall and 8 1/2" wide.
