Vintage Harmony H-1200 Flat top cutaway project guitar VERY rare:
$380.00

The Harmony Model 1200 does not come up for sale very often. They were only produced for a couple years 1954-56 (possibly 57 and 58). This particular instrument is structurally sound, but is being listed as a project guitar because of several issues - all of which can be remedied by a qualified Luthier or repairman. The guitar is all solid woods- spruce top and maple back and sides (even though it appears, from the inside, to be mahogany (to my eye - but I may be wrong, you tell me). The official harmony advertisements listed the body as solid maple. The neck does not have a truss rod and has a very slight bow in it. The guitar is strung with nylon strings (It was when I purchased it) The action at the 12th. fret is about 1/8 inch, maybe a smidgen higher. The tuners work great. The guitar has a brass saddle. The original pinless bridge was sanded down and converted into a pin bridge. (they did a rough job o the sanding).I have include a photo of the pinless bridge on my Harmony 1203 so you can see what the original bridge looked like. (That bridge DOES NOT come with the guitar - I included it as a reference only. (The Harmony1203 will be listed in another sale). I think a bridge replacement would be in order. The guitar has a very slight gap between the neck and the body, but only on the cutaway side. It is the width of a fingernail. The headstock has a cool \'Harmony\' inlay and the block inlays in the fretboard are in good shape. The small pick gaurd is original, but has shriveled with age. (I think it looks cool). There are many, manydings, scratches and worn spots on the instrument, but no cracks anywhere that I can see. I want to stress that this is a PROJECT guitar in need of restoration, so please ask questions if you have them so you know what you are getting into. No returns. It will be shipped securelyin a non-original vintage case. (nothing fancy). Thanks and please check out the other vintage guitars, instuments, gear, and misc. items that I have listed. I will be listing mahy guitars over the next few days, so check them out. Thanks!
