Vintage horse head bookends by Marion Bronze, original paint excellent condition:

Wonderful bookends depicting the figural head of a horse, presentedon a decorative base adorned with a key design around the top edge. NOTE: I have this same set already listed on , but in a different color: on this set the horse is painted white; on the already-listed set, the horse is painted the same gold gilt as the base.
Bronze-clad (also known as electro-formed) by Marion Bronze, their initials MB formed in the backs. Ca. 1960.
Condition is excellent: no damage to the structure, no breaks in the cladding, no mashed corners, no mashed horse parts. Paint is original, almost entirely intact, just a few small areas of chipping on the mouth (see 2nd to last pic),absolutely invisible unless you hold the horse\'s head back. Both have felts on the bottoms, which I think are original, and both pieces sit flat and stable.
These are big pieces: 7 1/2 inches tall; base is 5 1/8 by 3 inches; but 6 3/4 inches from back of base to front of flared nostrils. And heavy at 4 1/2 pounds EACH PIECE.
Perfect gift for the lover of horses or the original Godfather movie (probably not a lot of overlap in those 2 groups).
