Up for sale is a used Vintage Japanese Miniature Lacquer Painted Tansu Chest Of Drawers Trinket Box. The box is lacquer painted black with a color full interpretation of a traditional scene on the front of the box that depicts Mt Fuji and Lake Ashinoko with a pagoda shrine and boat sailing in the lake. This is a representation of a wood block print that is one of the 36 traditional views of Mt. Fuji. There are two tassels on the front of the box that when pulled open two doors that reveal the first of the three drawers the box has. The two inner drawers are black with small metal handles. The drawers pull out with no problems. There is Japanese writing on the two drawers and on the back side of the two doors. The third drawer is on the bottom of the box bellow the doors. The drawer has two rings on it for connecting tassels like the doors however it is missing the tassels. Of the front of the drawer is the rest of the painted scene. The rest of the drawer is black like the other two drawers. The drawer comes out of the box with no problems. Over all the box is in great shape with the exception of a few spots where the black lacquer paint has been shipped off. Also on the right side of the box there is a bubble in the paint that goes down the length of the box.
