This listing is for a vintage Josef Originals Girl Figure from the 50\'s. It is part of the American Beauty series. They have also been called Mushroom Girls, because of their shape.
Originally made in California, production was later moved to Japan, to keep costs down and because there were look a like ones being produced in Japan. It is ceramic.It has the sticker on one side that reads, \'Josef Originals California\'. The other sticker, which read \'September\', is gone. You can still see the residue where that sticker was placed. It is about 3 inches tall. The base measures about 2 3/4 inches across. It is holding a book with \'ABC\' on it. She is wearing a mostly blue dress, with white in the front and pink flowers with gold accents. She also has flowers in her hair.
There are also two flowers in her hair. This figurine is still in very good condition. I don\'t see any cracks in the glaze or chips anywhere. The last photo 4th photo is an attemptto show the Josef Originals signature on the bottom.
