This is a lovely mid century acrylic or lucite piece of art that looks like a terrarium in a fish tank frozen in time. It is large with a lot of variety of plants and insects with tremendous detail from any angle. At the bottom are black, white and red granite pieces, moss and moss covered bark. Growing out of the bark are a variety of sea weeds,fern fronds and a mushroom. There is a small acorn, soldier lichen with red tips, yellow violets with green leaves including a ladybug and blue babies breath. Floating above all of this is a yellow jacket or wasp, an orange sulfur butterfly and a cotton wood seed. There are some small nicks on the edges - nothing large and there are some light scratches. The lucite has yellowed with age. It is signed on the bottom bythe well known artist \"W. Rolfe.\" It measures 3\" tall X 4 5/8\" long and 2 5/8\" front to back.
