Beautiful industrial grey portable desk lamp made by Marks Manufacturing Company in Chicago Illinois. Heavy cast iron base and hammered steel hood. Original paint--very hard baked on enamel, the kind that seems to last forever. Has original label. In addition to the switch on the lamp, the cord has an additional switch. This switch is marked \"Gilbert New York City\". The lamp has a flexible gooseneck and the hood swivels around the light bulb to direct the light. The lamp measures 12-1/2\" tall and 14-1/2\" long in its normal configuration as shown. It has felt on the bottom to protect your desk or table.

Condition: It works! The paint on the hood and base is in very good condition given its age with a few marks, light scratches, and paint blemishes. A bit of surface rust where the hood joins the neck and a few other places. The neck has some surface rust and scratches, but is flexible and works very well. The cord is in good condition, but is typical of the time period--polarity is not marked (no wide spade on the plug) and the wiring inside the plug is not protected. The Gilbert switch works fine. The switch on the lamp is a little touchy, but works. There is some minor surface rust inside the hood. See high resolution photos for more!
