This sale is for a vintage (antique acually) Merriman Brothers Wooden Sailboat Double Block in REMARKABLE condition. There are many photos showing its details and condition. Made by Merriman Brothers of Boston. This block remains in great condition, probably UNUSED, still retaining all of the nickel plating on the bronze sheaves. Stainless straps and medallions. Accepts line to 1/2\" inch. Block measures about 5 3/4\" inches overall, and will measure about 6 1/2\" o/a when shackled. Marked with Merriman Brothers trademark Trident on the medallions. The bronze sheaves STILL RETAIN THE ORIGINAL NICKEL PLATING. Also offered in another sale is a nice pair of Merriman Bros. wooden single blocks. Highest quality equipment by a LEGENDARY maker.
