For sale is very nice mid century Hall China Company ashtray. We have another matching set of Hall China Company ashtrays currently for sale on here that are the same color if that peaks your interest.

HCC started business in 1903 in East Liverpool, Ohio. Hall China Company was well known for their superior teapots which they began making in the 1910s. We have sold many of their teapots over the years, but wehad never seen any of their ashtrays before we came across these three.

The mark on the bottom of thisashtray was used from 1930 to 1970.

Hall China introduced the single fire process to its manufacturing process and created the most superior teapots in the world. They use this same firing process for all oftheir wares. Hall China pieces are more durable andless porous than otherchina and are also craze proof.

Hall China Company was purchased by Homer Laughlin China Company in 2010 and is stillin production today. They are still considered to be among the bestpiecesmade.

This ashtray is5 5/16\" diameter and has three cigarette rests. The edges rolls inward leaving a 4 5/8\" inside diameter along the top edge which stands 1 1/4\" tall.

This ashtray still has an absolutely outstanding glaze, but there are two blemishes. There is a hairline crack running across the ashtray. It is about impossible to see without a jeweler\'s loupe and we couldn\'t see it without one and my son is 14 years old with perfect eyesight. My 43 year old eyes aren\'t as good as they once were. Anyhow, we noticed on the outside of the ashtray first and followed it using a jeweler\'s loupe. The hairline crack is extremely difficult to see, so it isn\'t too bad. Unfortunately, there is a chip about the size of a grain of wild rice along the very left edge/corner of one of the cigarette rests. This could be touched up to hide it, or rotated so it can\'t be seen. We took a picture so you could see it for yourself.

We also pack our items very well. We use bubble wrapand/or packaging peanuts along with thickcardboard boxes. If an item is breakable, we clearly mark that onevery side of the box except the bottom. We have received dozens of positive comments regarding our packaging and we will always package our items with the same care as we would want our purchases to be packed.
