RARE elegant vintage Native American Indian drinking beverage cup. Signed by Navajo artist R Silas. The etched sgraffito style design depicts towering mountains in flowing colors of teal and purple on the white glazed exterior. Interior is glazed white and can be used for hot or cold liquids. Appx 4\" tall x 3.5\" in diameter. Excellent condition with no issues, flaws, cracks, breaks, or stains. The cup has never been used for beverages - it has only been used for display. Very rare item - I have never seen another cup/mug made by R Silas anywhere. We purchased this while visiting Arizona in the 1980s.
This item is vintage ceramic / porcelain and therefore may show inherent characteristics of age and manufacturers irregularities. Some of these irregularities may include acceptable base wear, bubbles, pattern inconsistencies, straw marks, granules, crazing, cooling marks or mold marks. Vintage items are rarely perfect and these characteristics are normal. All of these features are expected to occur in vintage items and may also show up in contemporary items.
