Vintage Classic Santa Nesting Tins

Set of three (3) tins featuring
the classic Santa carrying a Sack filled with Toys

The tins are exactly alike in graduated sizes

The tins are not dated, but were purchased in 1978 by myself. I bought them at a store in Sun Valley, California called Pic-n-Save. At the time Pic-n-Save was the largest retailer of closeouts (items that are discontinued) around. Pic-n-Save is no longer around having been bought out by Big Lots.

The tins are in great shape, very clean and shiny. There are two scratches worth mentioning, one on the largest tin on Santa’s hat and one on the smallest tin on Santa’s eyebrow – see photos to see close-up. Also barely discernible is a tiny pit on the lid of the biggest tin, camera won’t pick it up and can only be seen by holding to the light and tilting it. Santa has a lot of detail and any imperfections on the tins are not noticeable. The Santa depicted is the classic Santa, his lips are pursed and his eyes are full of laughter. His hat is decorated with berries and leaves and there is a swirl of snow overhead. He is carrying a sack stuffed full with toys and presents and what little background there is looks to be a star filled Christmas Eve night.

Over the years, I have displayed them in different ways, sometimes I stack them – making a tower, which saves on space, and some years I have lined them up in a row, using them as canisters. Last year I had them on a high shelf, placed randomly on their side with just Santa’s face showing. The tins are on the small side, making them very easy to decorate.

Shipping

It is a good idea to wait for an invoice before paying because often there is a more economical route than the one listed, depending on the Buyers location. I will send packages as economically as possible and will work with the buyer if they have preferences

I will ship within 1 to 3 days of receiving payment. I am always happy to combine shipping for multiple purchases.
