Vintage Manual OLYMPIA Typewriter Model SG-3 1970s - 1980s MADE IN MEXICO
- I was able to type for the little I tried (see typed line on page in photos). Ribbon seems to be too small of size or something, kept rising as I typed - unsure if for ribbon size or other issue. Will need replaced, either way.
- Carriage moves when typing, but I could not get a ding at end of line nor figure out how to go to new line without manually moving over and down a notch - unsure if common for this particular type or other issue as well.
- Definitely will require some oiling, and some TLC - I cleaned the guts as best I could and it still has dust/debri/residue from seemingly years in storage or similar (unsure its resting place or history of use over recent years, just can tell it sat and gathered dust/debri/residue nonetheless).
- Note, I have dealt with and sold many vintage manual typewriters but I am very new to this Olympia type and simply have no knowledge of how it works.
- If I had the time right now, I\'d keep it until I figured it out completely but am selling it for parts/repair/refurbish simply since I am unable to find said time at the moment.

- Condition to Note: White hard metal cover has some paint nicks/scuffs in few spots and edges; some of the keys have some nicks/scuffs as well and some wear. The chrome handle on left side is in decent shape compared to what I have heard from and seen a few collectors state on youtube regarding condition they usually find this handle to be in when found/purchased. The carriage moves quite well, a little bit of grind or friction more than some may like but can easily find itself back to top notch shape considering its agility as it is now, moves when typing without any issues. As mentioned below, carriage does not seem to ding at end of line nor could I find way to go to next line. Guts - mostly keys and all other parts aside from main body and other easily accessible areas need a good, thorough cleaning out and re-oiled. Plenty of debri/dust/residue seemingly caught midst the oil sitting in storage or similar for who knows how long. I am not an expert on typewriters by any means, but have sold hundreds over the years and typically only list as for parts/repair because of this very fact. However, my buyers have been absolutely satisfied with their purchase for any and all reasons for purchasing - whether it be for refurbish/restore projects or arts/crafts and so on - and many times even were surprised at how well the machines worked straight out of the box in contrast to how little I felt it did or does simply based on very little know-how and time spent with it prior to listing it and they never had any issues and my shipping is professional and packaged super secure and insured, regardless.
