Army maps

At sale is a vintage set of maps that I personally used as an Army Artillery Officer while stationed in Germany in 1967-68. They include the artillery Training Area Grafenwöhr in Bavaria, The Official Road Map for Allied Forces, LOI for calibration, and a plastic map case. When I returned from my tour at the end of 1968 I put them all in storage. If you ever served in Germany during the 60\'s and had a tour at Grafenwöhr then these maps will bring back a lot of memories. Remember the dust? The mud! The bars in Weiden! Time to pass them on!

DESCRIPTION

  • Training Area Grafenwöhr Map-- Series M 841-TR-Z, Ausgabe 3-DMG, 1:25,000, 1962

  • Official Road Map for Allied Forces, M306 Edition 3-AMS (USAREUR) 1:1,000,000

  • 3 page LOI (Letter Of Instruction) dated 5Mar68 for Calibration of artillery of the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Artillery Battalion, the one I served in. Neat references to things like "Charge 6 WB (white bag)" , "B Battery will eat the noon meal at the calibration point" -- probably C Rations.

  • Plastic Map Cover -- with zippered top

These maps were used on three thirty day tours in Grafenwöhr in 1967 and 1968 and were in the front seat of the jeep many times, out in the field for forward observation and generally show the wear and dirt we all went through when there. This would make great display pieces for any collector or for re-enactment use.
