Vintage Our Lady Of 7 Sorrows Chaplet Rosary MARY MATER DOLOROSA chaplet:

This beautiful vintage 7 Sorrows of Mary Chapel measures approx. 18 1/2\" long. The larger medal at the bottom measures approx. 1\" high and has Mary with the 7 swords piercing her on one side of the medal and it says \"MATER DOLOROSA\". Which translates to \"The Grieving/Sorrowful Mother\". The back of the medal has the crucifixion and it says \"In Cruce Salus\"which translates into \"Salvation in the Cross\". Each of the smaller medals have Mary pierced with the 7 Swords on one side and the reverse sides depict the 7 sorrows of Mary as follows:
1. The Prophecy of Simeon2. The Escape and Flight into Egypt3. The Loss of the Child Jesus for 3 Days and Later Found in the Temple4. The Meeting of Mary & Jesus on the Via Dolorosa5. The Crucifixion of Jesus on Mount Calvary6. The Piercing of the Side of Jesus, and Taking Jesus Down from the Cross.7. The Burial of Jesus
This Chapel was made in Italy and is composed of black wood beads and base metal.This item is vintage and has age wear.See photos for detail as they are part of the description.
