This vintage covered basket is approx.. 5 ¼” wide x 3”high.

The piece has a “porcupine twist”decoration

with a braided sweetgrass band bottom cover and ash splintfoundation.

There is typical oxicationfrom light on the exterior.

The interioris light and bright. It is in excellentvintage condition.

This is a very difficult style of basketweaving, done by a skilled weaver.

Dueto their delicate twists, they are rarely seen without damage.
