HOW DO I FEEL ABOUT THIS PEN

This week I sold two vintage models and I will put one more pen from my collection, I hope this will catch your eyes.

The other day, while ransacking the house, I was so exhausted and wanted to go through my huge collection of fountain pens and I came across Pilot’s 1970s vintage model that I am keeping for 25 years. I got this pen from a former Japanese diplomat, a very close friend of my father. He did not want to hand it over to me because it brings back all the memories back in 70s and he used it for signature and according to him this pen is just not a pen, with it many novel things were accomplished.

He gave to me this pen, long before he passed, in 1992. I kept this pen with me long enough and since this is the month of Christmas I would like someone else to have this honor to keep the pen.

My soft spot for fountain pens has no bound. If I can my hands on to any of the vintage pens with history, I would feel like this is one of my happiest days of my life. It breaks my heart to put my collections up for sale but I do it anyway because I want my fellow pen lovers can also feel the absolute pleasure to experience the part of the history like I did. So i will put the pen on sale for $0.99. You know the worth of these pens and it is timeless collection pen money cannot buy. May the pen be yours who deserves the Excellency of this pen.

This pen was made in Hiratsuka, Japan in May 1978

LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY:

The first PILOT pens were launched in Japan in 1918. Since then Pilot created many collection models that could not continue until now but some models that made it until now or their identical design.

Today I picked up one fountain pen that has history, a vintage model dated back in 1976 but the base design still lives on to many high end pens today like, Pilot Custom Hira Makie pens, Lady White, Deluxe, Celimo fountain pens. Platinum has the same design model called “Standard 18K Gold” and Sailor has the same called “Somiko”

All these pens actually based on the model that I am putting up for sale.

This nib is marked H878. This pen was made in Hiratsuka, Japan in May 1978. Since it is Pilot legend and dated 1970s, getting one of these is just priceless.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:

Not only does the look have visual appeal, it feels nice. The texture is nice and smooth with red resin finish. The balance is nearly perfect with or without the cap. The cap snaps on with a very audible \"click\" and keeps the nib reasonably air tight, and features a large handsome spring loaded red lined clip (it also posts smoothly and securely).

My experience with the Pilot vintage has been nothing short of wonderful. The build quality is everything you would expect it to be. This model is dated in 1976 and is in pristine condition. The nib is very firm and writes like a silky smooth cotton touch over any kind of paper you may want to try writing with. Absolutely delightful.
