Found at an estate sale: a wonderful collection of vintage bark cloth from the South Pacific. Here is an example of vintage Polynesian, probably Tongan, \"tapa\" or \"ngatu\" cloth. The bold geometric pattern is hand painted in natural wood tones and measures approximately 23-1/2\" X 28\" to edges of printed design, then there is a 2-3\" border all around. There is aging of the cloth andtypical uneven and layered naturally ragged borders. This piece has been stored folded in three places, and will be shipped that way. However the folded creases can be steamed to remove them. Fabulous vintage tribal art. A great look on a wall, framed or unframed. See all photos.
