This is a rare Made in Occupied Japan Dragonware sake decanter bottle that measures 6 inches high. It features a white flying three toed dragon amidst the clouds holding and protecting a sacred jewel called Hojyu. there is a small bird perched atop It was entirely hand painted using a moriage technique. porcelain six sided sake jug measures 6” to top of pour spout. green, red and gold dragon encircles jug. gilt bird opposite pour spout whistles when sake is poured. the bottle that sings with a chirping sound as the rice wine or any liquid is poured out of the decanter. some modest wear to gold consistent with use. Bottom of jug marked “MADE IN JAPAN”. In very good condition.
