The followinglisting is foran Antique Vintage German Hausser Composition Elastolin Animal Walking Bear.

Maker:Made in Germany. Possibly Hausser or Linoel. I looked through several catalogs and came up with Hausser #6251 or 5(1939/40) which was similiar and saw a similiar one under Lineol # 515 (1937)but since they are so similiar - can\'t be certain. Because of the great detail, I lean toward Hausser.

Marked:Germany under belly.

Material:Elastolin composition figures are made from sawdust, a glue such as casein, and clay (kaolin) molded on a wire armature and hand painted at the factory.

Features:The following listing is foran Antique or Vintage German Elastolin Composite / Composition Animal / Walking Bear. Painteddark brownwith facial features (little round orangeeyes with black pupils,black nose, whiteandpink inside of his slightly open mouth), brown fur. Thewalking bearisnicelysculpted with very fine detail.Elastolin was created in 1912 by Otto and Max Hausser but later utilized by Lineol and other manufactures. Since this is marked, it is certain to be Lineol. I have several listed but some are marked with Germany, two lines, Lineol and unmarked. Some I have found in catelogs - including a Hausser catelog.

Size:Thisitem is approximately;2.5 inches (6.25 cm)heightby 4.9\" (12.5 cm)length.

Age:1930s-40s approximately.

Condition: Condition is subjective but item is used and wear is evident as seen in the photographs. Used with old lifting crack (stable)on right side of neck and old complete crack on right front paw and incomplete crack on back paw, both held together with wire frame: please look at the photographs as part of the description. Still quite nice. I may not have caught everything so please rely on pictures as part of description.
