I\'m not sure where to even start with this unique and extremely rare microphone?
It\'s made by Turner apparently but the badge states SOUND SCRIBER and shows different levels or channels in which to use with the switch. Seems to be a specialized piece of equipment used at certain businesses or agencies?
There isn\'t any info on this particular make and model on the internet that I can find and I\'ve never seen one before.II was told that it was part of a W.W II field kit. It\'s extremely rare.
As seen in the pictures provided the original paint onthis Sound Scriber is all original andis in pretty good shape overall with typical smallscratches and scuffsin the finish. It has a unique 4 pin connection on the side of the base. The original cable was cut off so I went inside to see if it could be easily replaced? The bottom plate comes off easily with one screw holding it in place.
I don\'t have any specialized equipment to test with so I left the cable alone. I did test the element inside the housing and it does work though very weak. It\'s a dynamic element that you would see in the Turner CD microphone.
There is no missing hardware on this microphone. An easy8 on a scale of 1 - 10 in the cosmetic department.
It\'s a largeunit at10 inches tall X4 inches wide X5 1/2 inches deep. It\'s got some good weight to it as well.
Thismic would do any vintage microphone collection justice and you probably won\'t see another of these on for years to come.
