You are looking at a very unique and rare Amperite RSHG \"velocity\" ribbon microphone made in New York City during the mid 1950\'s.
This one of the rarest microphones from Amperite and you just never see them around. It has a very industrial look to it and built like a tank! Quite large as well and the same size as a 1st generation Shure 55 Fatboy.
As you can see in the pictures provided this beautiful microphone has been used very little over the years and the original painted finish is 100% free of any scratches dent\'s or fractures though there is a few paint chips as seen in the detailed pics provided. The mic was very well taken care of over the decades.
This mic has been cleaned and tested.It should be noted that while this mic has a very clean, warm sound it will need a good inline transformer to boost the signal strength. A pre amp would work too but I have been told to avoid those. Play it safe with a strong inline transformer so it can absolutely be used for recording or broadcasting purposes. The mic doesn\'t say if it\'s a High Z or Low Z model but it absolutely has a low Z sound. This model does not have an on / off or impedance switch...one setting only.
The original cable and newer male XLR connector are included. The cable itself is 7 feet long, soft and pliable with zero cracks.
Info on this variant of the RBHG model are hard to find and these mics were not produced for very long making them uber hard to find and highly collectible. Cosmetically speaking this mic is a 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10.
