Here is a stunning vintage white ironstone four piece octagonal shaped soup tureen set with embossed grapes, leaf, and twig decor. This beautiful set includes a large underplate with double open twig branch shaped handles, the large soup tureen with open twig branch handles, the lid with embossed grape bunch decor, and the ladle with the twig branch decor all along the handle. The three larger pieces are marked with the Red Cliff Ironstone impressed mark and an impressed date. The ladle is not marked. The date on the underplate is Feb. 2, the date on the soup tureen is Nov. 29, and the date on the underside of the lid is Dec. 2.
This vintage large matching soup tureen set measures as follows: 12\" tall to the top of the lid not including the ladle, 12 3/4\" by 10 1/4\" for the underplate, 7 3/4\" tall for the soup tureen itself by 11 3/4\" across, and 9\" across without the handles. The lid itself measures 4\" tall by 7 1/2\" across and the ladle measures 12\" long. All four pieces are in excellent condition except for a tiny nick on the underside of the lip of the ladle. There is minor crazing which is simply indicative of its age,
This is a heavy set weighing 11 1/2 pounds unpacked..
