For sale is a vintage, Singer 221-1 Featherweight sewing machine, with case and accessories. The sale includes the following items with notes about condition:
- Theblack, Singer 221-1 Featherweight sewing machine (serial #AH808553) isin very-good, vintage condition, with some scratches on the bed surface. The light works, and the drive belt appears to be in excellent condition without cracks or tears. The machineappears to be mechanically soundwhen the foot pedal is pressed.
- Thefoot pedal is in excellent, vintage condition with some light scratches consistent with gentle use.The cord is in excellent, as-new condition except for the white, vintage, wall plug, whichsuggestseither a replacement or a factory assembly based upon availability.
- The case is in excellent condition, except for some wear in the leather handle at the loops; there is no key, but one can be purchased on for around $7.00.
- The owner\'s manual includes the owner\'s inked name on the front and inked notes on several pages; the manual issomewhat soiled andcreased and is heavily tanned.The lastcopyright dateis ** 1950 **.
- Theset of attachments is complete, but the original box is missing. The smaller attachmentsare containedina vintage Bostitch staple box. In order of treatment, they are
- the foot hemmer (120855),
- the adjustable hemmer (35931),
- the multiple-slotted binder (160359),
- the edge stitcher (36865),
- the gatherer (121441), and
- the ruffler (120598).
- Thebutton holer,complete in the case, is in very-good condition with some loss to the paint finish. The metal surfaces also show some spots of corrosion.The manual, which fitsinto the undersideof the lid,is heavilycreased from storage and use.
- Theadjustable-cording, zipperfoot (121877)is not treated in the manual.
- Two, opened packages of needles contain three #11s and three #16s.
- The original can of machine oil appears to be about half full and is carried upright in the case. The can shows some corrosion on the top and some scratches in the finish
- The original tube of motor lubricant is about 2/3 full and may or may not be useful. The paint on the tube is about half gone and continues to flake with handling. The box is in very-good condition with light soiling and some rubbing on the edges.
- The small, slotted screwdriver (120378) reads SimancoUSA.
- Theeightmetal bobbinsinclude seven with thread and one without thread.
- An assortment of used threadis included onfourteen, wood spools.
