Fine example of Sanborns sterling silver, these salt & pepper shakers/castors were made in Mexico, in the rustic colonial-revival style popular in the mid 20th century.Both shakers are in excellent condition for their age, although with the signs of ordinary use and storage. Both shakers have threaded lids that unscrew from the top of the shaker to allow refilling; one lid has larger holes than the other (normal for salt/pepper servers).Dimensions of both shakers are the same -- 1-1/4\" diameter footed base segmentd into 5 lobes; footed bases rising up and carry the 5 lobes onto the shaker body. Height of both shakers is 2-5/8\". Both shakers are fully hallmarked by the maker \'RR\', by Sanborns, and include both the sterling designation and eagle assay stamp. Total weight is approx 1.5 oz on my postal scale (44 g).Shipping only to registered PayPal addresses in the US.
