This electric meter table lamp is in perfect working condition as well as being a great conversation piece.The lamp is wired through the electric meter so when the lamp is on, the meter spins and registers the electric usage.

This lamp was produced commercially and is not a homemade orproject lamp. The vintage meter is a Sangamo Type JA that was produced from 1940 to 1954.

The electric meter is mounted to a 7 3/8\" by 6 1/4\" hardwood base with two screws. Felt pads affixed to the underside of the base are there to protect your tabletop. The 60\" lamp cordis wiredthrough the back of the base and into the bottom of the meter.

The lamp is controlled by a turn switchon the 3 way lamp socket. The 11 1/2\" by 9\" (oval) by 10\" highlamp shade is mounted on the 8\" harp. The lamp stands about 24\" high.

In our opinion, this electric meter was never placed into service. When looking at the meter\'s componetry through the glass globe, no signs of dirt, dust, or grime can be found. The black painted housing is equally as impressive with very few signs of wear.

The light bulb seen in the photos is for illustrative purposes and is not included in this listing.
