On offer here is a really cool vintage copy of C. S. Lewis’s sciencefiction classic Out of A Silent Planet. This early American printing was published in 1947 by The Macmillan Company, NY. Hardcover book in its originalunclipped ($2.50) dust jacket. In goodoverall condition. Some browning to the end papers. Faint PO stamp on book block edge. Moderate wear and tear to the jacket. Great retro art on the dust jacket! Great gift idea!

Out of the Silent Planet is a science fiction novel by the British author C. S. Lewis, published in 1938 by John Lane, The Bodley Head. Five years later it was published in the U.S. (MacMillan, 1943). Two sequels were published in 1943 and 1945, completing the so-called Cosmic Trilogy or The Space Trilogy.
