Offered here is a lovely vintage Zuni silver \'sunburst\' or \'solar\' cross necklace set with bright blue natural turquoise. This is a genuine vintage Native American piece that was traded to a relative of mine many, many years ago (approx circa 1930\'s to 40\'s) in partial exchange for a car repair or construction work (he did both) by it\'s native owner. It has been in my family since. I\'m downsizing and this is one of the items I am letting go to another who will appreciate it\'s beauty.
Older dark patina on the silver from years of being stored. It would polish up beautifully if you prefer your silver shiny.
This piece is sweet and delicate, for a child or a woman who prefers smaller pieces. The 18 inch chain is sterling silver and vintage.
Measures approx. 1 x .75 inches.
The cross symbol has a much deeper meaning than that of Christianity to many Native American tribes and predates interactions with Christian missionaries and the \'white man\' by thousands of years. The arms represents the four directions and the rays represent the sun, the bringer of life.
