This here is a wonderful vintage Silverplate Neuschwanstein Castle Souvenir Spoon. The Neuschwanstein Castle is located in the mountains of Bavarian Germany. It was completed in the 1880s, originally intended to be home to King Ludwig II. After his death, I believe before construction was completed, it was opened to the public. A decal featuring a depiction of the castle is seen at the end of the handle within an ornate border pattern. Measuring appr 4 3/4” length with an appr 7/8” bowl width, this spoon is in very good condition showing only very minor wear from age and handling with some minor tarnishing in spots, which could likely be remedied with a proper polishing, all as can be seen in photos. Overall, a very nice spoon that would make an excellent addition to any collection.
