Sterling Oval Pin in a Grape and Leaf Design – Unsigned –Mid-Century

The pin is in a grape and leaf design, which waspopular during the 1950‘s. It has nomanufactures markings, but does look very similar to Coro’s Norseland Grape& Leaf design. It is alsoreminiscent of the Grape and Leaf design of Georg Jensen.

The only markings on the pin are where it is stampedSterling in two places – along thetop and bottom edge of the back of the pin.

The pin has a fold-over lock.

The pin back is about a third of the way down the back,and it sits nicely on a lapel, scarf, blouse, purse, etc.

The recessed areas in the design are darkerthan the surface area, giving dimension to the design.

The simple design is timeless and can be enjoyed foradditional decades to come.

Sizes approximate: 2 ¼” wide and1 ½” high.

Condition:Used. The pin has been worn,and was well taken care of by a single owner for over 45 years.

When needed, it was lightly hand cleaned with a polishingcloth designed for the care of sterling pieces.No abrasive pastes or cleaning dips were applied to the pin.

The pin has slight scratches and other marks on both sides inthe sterling silver, which is typical of pins of this vintage and material.

The fold-over lock is working and does not spin too loosely,giving this a secure closure.

The straight pin part of the lock is a bit crooked,but is securely attached at both ends when closed.

The pin body is substantial and is not at all thinor flimsy.
