As a young boy Alvin remembers helping his father sell jewelry along old Route 66; with threespotted donkeys and a very unusual covered wagon Alvin’s Dad had made from an old 1927 Model T frame. The result was a lot of picture taking andcurious chatter frompassers by. It was these early years that inspired Alvin to undertake silversmithing and jewelry design.He beganexamining in detail every piece of jewelry he came across. His fascinationpeakedwhen a friend showed him multi-colored jewelry made ofstones and shellsthereby stirringAlvin to begin hispursuit of the channel inlay technique.
