VINTAGE STERLING SILVER ON SAND GLASS BASE SCULPTURE PAPERWEIGHT JERUSALEM BY DESIGNER MIRIAM HIRSZOWICZ

Miriam Hirszowicz was born in Jerusalem.She has been designing jewelry since 1969. Her collection is extensive and is comprised of two types of original designs: Modern designs , silver and gold jewelry based on electro-forming; and designs inspired by archaeological findings.
Miriam Hirszowicz won achievement awards for some of her designs at international contests.Celebrities around the world own her jewelry, including Princess Dee.
In the last few years the artist developed her gift line, which includes decorative accessories and objects for the home and office.In the summer of 1995 she created her series of Musicians Statues.

The featured item represents a glass & sterling silver paperweight sculpture that measures approximately 3 3/4\" in diameter and 3/4\" tall. The silver medallion is about 2 1/4\" in diameter.

The blue-greenish round base with scalloped edges is made of sand blasted glass. In the centeris inserted a round raised image of Jerusalem. In the middle ofitthere is a hologram that reads \" ECI TELECOM\" - a telecommunication networking product provider headquartered in Petah Tikva, Israel. On the bottom of the base is a round sticker( that fell off ) that reads \" Designed By M. Hirszowicz\"

This piece was created from sterling silver by an electroforming process- a sophisticated contemporary art using electrochemical means to form a hollow metallic body.

This unique artwork should be treated with care and not be exposed to extreme heat. Gentle buffing with silver cloth can always quickly restore the high gloss. Dropping the piece can result in dents.

The item comes in excellent condition. No major surface damages on the sand glass but some minor dings and scuffs here and there. The silver piece is well preserved as well. It has lovely patina that I\'d rather not clean and leave that pleasure to the future owner.

The featuredsterling and glass sculpture paperweight will make a wonderful addition to any collection. It will be a great display for any Jewish home.
