Vintage Takito Company (T T)Japan MoriageDragonware Teapot w/Base Plate~ 1922-1944Beautiful, vintage Takito Company(T T) hand painted, moriage dragonware teapot with the lid and underplate. Marked \"T T\" in two rectangles, on the base of the teapot,and the underplate. . Based on my research, The Takito Company operated in Japan from 1880 until closing in 1948..The Takito mark, two \"T\"s in diamonds was used from roughly 1922 until 1944.Condition:v Teapot Body: No cracks, chips or repairs. Some wear to gold. Moriage looks good, but upon very close inspection, I do find a few missing dots& a few damaged dots. A few minorscuffs & scratches to the paint.v Lid: No cracks or repairs. A small chip on the underside where some black paint was, and on the rim. Some wear to the gold. A few missing moriage dots, and 2 ends on th eblue moriage . v Base:No cracks, chips or repairs. Wear to gold edge. Some paint scratches. A white haze to the paint. Top is yellowed. Approximate Measurements: 5½” H, 8½” H with lid and underplate. 8½” total width from edges of spout & handle. This wonderful teapot will need some cleaning. It was lightly wiped, but other than that it is in as found condition.I am not an expert, and have disclosed all flaws I found. Given the age and moriage details of thispiece, I may have missed something.
