What an amazing Tibetan ceremonial dragon teapot hand made in India out of copper, brass, nickel silver and the interior appears to be tin or aluminum. Circa 1950\'s.
The mythological dragon handle and snakes/dragon spout are so elaborate and fascinating. Mythological water monsters (\'makara\') were found throughout the Tibetan culture in varying styles. Great attention to detail has been applied to the hand hammered lid which almost resemble an antiquated warrior\'s helmet. Holds up to 66 fluid ounces.

The estate piece was going to be used in a robotic metal sculpture but alas, the artist changed his mind, thankfully, so that I may present this to you for sale. Originally there would have been a chain attaching the lid to the handle, as there is a visible loop on each. Scratched onto the bottom is the word \"India.\" I was told these ornate ceremonial tea/coffee pots were made to be used only for special occasions, such as weddings and great celebrations or for esteemed guests.

This would make an amazing addition to your home\'s decor or a wonderful gift. Measures Approx: 12.5\" tall from base to point of lid x 12.5\" from spout to handle x 6 3/4\" deep. It is in overall good, yet aged, rustic condition with an amazing patina. It\'s not perfect but is perfectly charming! Note about all vintage items: They are sold in used, as-is, pre-owned condition. Vintage and antique items by nature have some wear, imperfections and signs of use, age and time.
