GRACE WATCHMAN HANDMADE NAVAJO RUG
This rug has its original price tag. It is 18 x 23 inches.
My best guess is that Grace sold it in 1982, which is probably the year she made it.
I believe the photo of Grace was taken in 2005 and she is holding a slightly larger rug for $275 in 2005.
Similar new 18\" x 23\" rugs are being sold currently at the Garden of the Gods Trading Post in Manitou Springs, CO for $450.
In talking to a representative from there, they thought Grace’s passing may have added to the value along with it being a vintage piece.
Grace H Watchman (1938 - 2005) Born on June 4, 1938. She died on April 19, 2005 at 66 years of age. Grace had been residing in Shiprock, San Juan County, New Mexico.
I\'m not a rug expert. This rug comes from a friend\'s estate where it was hung on a wall for decades. It shows some signs of aging, but no fading or stains.
