We have had the fortune over the years of being able to purchase authenticNative American made jewelry from the estates of three different Native American jewelry salesmen that operated in the southwest during the 1940\'s, 50\'s and 1960\'s. This is one of the items.
100% Authentic - This Zuni cuff is called a treasure bracelet,so-called due to the rows of stones creating a treasureof turquoise! There are 48 round turquoise stones that range in color from a bright turquoise blue to others thatover the ages have turnedmore teal or greenish blue. Think about it...this is 4 bracelets in 1.
One stone in the corner is cracked.
This bracelet is approximately 50 years old. The design is Zuni, however since it is not signed it could have been done by a Navajo working in Zuni style. It is stamped sterling.
It measures as follows: Width is 1 3/16 inches (3 cm). Inside circumference is 5 1/2 inches (13.5 cm) plus an opening of 1 1/4 inches for a total circumference of 6 3/4 inches.
It may be adjusted slightly a little bigger or smaller. The main thing to remember when adjusting a cuff bracelet is to hold the stone in the palm of your hand while gently pushing in or out on the sides of the cuff with the other hand. Hold it with 1 or 2 fingers inside and apply pressure on the outside with your thumb. One side at the time.
