This is a very special pen. If you\'re looking at this, then you already know that. One of the original 149s from 1956 with the celluloid body and the compound piston filling mechanism. It comes with a non-original but authentic vintage Montblanc box and slipcase (1960s vintage, I think).
It\'s in very good shape for its age, and has the biggest nib I\'ve ever seen on a fountain pen. Seriously. It\'s larger than modern 149s. The pen also sports a very rare dual channel ebonite feed.
One of the two sterling silver rings that flank the cap band is loose, but I thought the winner of this sale would prefer to supervise the re-affixing rather than have a local pen repair guy do it here.
It\'s a beautiful writer, with some line variation. In my opinion it writes as a medium. I purchased it about a year ago from a seller on Fountain Pen Network for much more than it\'s listed here :(
I\'d be surprised if I ended up writing a page with it. I\'ve always found 149s a little big for my hand, and I was always so concerned about damaging it in some way that I rarely used it :)
