DESCRIPTION: Vintage early 1900s Lake & Elliot hand operated bench grinder / grinding wheel in good working orderThis is a rare early hand-operated bench grinder used for grinding metal, sharpening tools etc. It predates the electric bench grinders and was manufactured by Lake & Elliot in Braintree England in the early 1900s - 1910s period. The body and stand is made of metal and it was designed to be mounted onto a bench. It is marked \"Millennium Lake & Elliot Braintree\". It is a very well made and robust vintage bench grinder and has survived the years in good solid original unrestored condition. It is still in good working order. The grinding wheel spins smoothly as the handle is turned. The grinder is in good condition showing general surface wear and marks from use. The wood handle is still good and the metal parts are also in good order. The grinding wheel is also in good order with no cracks or breaks. This old bench grinder has been sitting in the garage for many decades and needs a thorough clean to remove the accumulated surface dust. It is quite heavy - weighs about 6 kilgrams.
