Description

This gorgeous wedding cake topper was made by Coast Novelty, and dates to the 1950's. The bride and groom are made from chalk (plaster), and hand painted. The bride is wearing a real silk skirt, and has a real net veil. The bride and groom are surrounded by a wire arbor with silk and cotton flowers with a silk bow and little pearl seeds. The piece is mounted on a plastic base. The skirt and flowers are off white, and the base and couple are white. The bride and groom have a slight iridescent gleam to their clothes. The base was made in Hong Kong, and the bride and groom were made in California. The piece is in near mint condition - there is a slight bit of darkening to the flowers, and one small brown spot on the silk ribbon on the back. There are no chips, cracks or breaks or paint issues for the couple. There is one very small break in the bottom of the plastic base on the back. The entire piece is in excellent condition, and displays beautifully. It stands about 7 1/2" tall, and the bride and groom are about 4 1/8" tall. The piece is lovely and won't disappoint!
