Purchased from a seller whose grandfather was a cousin of Nancy Carter. Nancy Carter was from Charlottesville, Va. She had a cottage industry making jewelry and accessories in the 1930\'s early 40\'s. By the end of 1942 she was enrolled in the U.S. Women\'s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) and attended basic training in Daytona Beach, FLA. In 1944 she was stationed at Fort Oglethorpe Georgia and was then serving in the U.S. Army Women\'s Corps. Nancy then served our country during WWII in England and France, receiving the Bronze Star. She continued to serve in the Army until the mid 1960\'s.
