This is a beautiful piece! The colors in the wood are beautiful as is the grain. They range from black, red, and different shades of browns. There are also areas of moldy greenish white which adds that old look to it. It has a wind swept look which really enhances the look of it. The wood is heavy, weighs 1 lb 2.8 oz. The detail is something else too. From the fine points in the beard and the fine lines in his beard to the sharp features of his face. It all just brings him to life! It is signed on the back. I can\'t tell for sure, but I think it is \"HH\" and below that \"+77\". I am not sure who the artist was but they took pride in their work. The back has a carved out area to hang it. There is no damage of broken off pieces, scratches or nicks. My photos don\'t do it justice. Note: The shine is from oil. It is not a gloss finish. The main part of the face looks like it was varnished to highlight it. The rest of the piece is bare wood.
