Offered this week...A spectacular VACIT vintage necklace by an acclaimed Zuni artist. Frank Vacit (1915-1999) and his daughter Bessie share this signature hallmark, an ear of corn resembling a fleur-de-lis. Masters of mosaic inlay, the work is widely celebrated in books, museums, and private collections. Frank was active from the 1930\'s to the 1950\'s. Bessie, now 73, created fabulous mosaic designs as well. Here is an absolutely divine necklace, most likely created by Bessie. Composed of 3 mosaic pendants, gem quality luminous pink mother of pearl is artfully inlaid into heavy gauge sterling silver to form stunning flowerlike patterns. Light reflecting off of the slightly domed pendants brings out the irridescence and aurora borealis radiance of the mop, continually changing with the light. The central pendant measures 1-1/4\" wide (diameter) x 2-1/2\" long, including dangles. The two side pendants measure 1-1/8\" diameter. Handmade sterling silver chain links. Hallmarked with shared Vacit ear of corn signature hallmark. Guaranteed fine quality sterling silver. The necklace is heavy for its size at almost 40 grams and lays beautifully. A really gorgeous piece, in pristine condition... photos don\'t do it justice. Extremely collectible.
