WMF brass electric kettle by British Prometheus Co circa 1908 Art Nouveau:

A rare Art Nouveau brass kettle the standard WMF brass jug was imported and used by the British Prometheus Co circa 1908 to make there electric kettles. A superb example in good condition, (a few minor dings consistent with use) the hinged lid works fine the interior is tinned and full marked on the base see photo. Height 12”-305mm.
Some info i have found British Prometheus Co. ( Prometheus was a trade mark of Dowsing)1906 March. British Prometheus Co. move from Kingston-on-Thames to Salop Street, Highgate Park, Birmingham.

· 1908 16th May The British Prometheus Company apply for a patent for their “boil-dry protection” switch. Patent No. GB190810680. Granted 16th June 1909
· 1908 10th October. The British Prometheus Co. applies for a patent for a heater in which a resistance wire is wound on a mica former, or a resistance paint is painted on a mica former, and this is then enclosed in a thin steel case for protection. By bolting this construction to the base of cooking vessels it thus paves the way for a truly replaceable element. Patent No. GB190821493. Granted 7th January 1909

Candlestick will not be bent but my lean very slightly as these are not modern copies.
