TERRIFIC 19C ANTIQUE BURRWALNUT JEWELLERY BOX - FAB INTERIOR

Youare offerding on a WONDERFUL LARGE 19c burr walnut veneered restored andrepolished jewellery box. Dates approximately 1840/1880.

InWONDERFUL restored condition.

Nomissing or replaced veneer. Slight lift of the lid to the left side which doesnot detract from this terrific box. Minor blemishes, and bruises throughout. Itsa great restored box in pretty good order.

Thewalnut figuring on the veneer is superb and really comes to life when the sunhits it.

Minorrepair on the ebony outer border which is nothing.

Inlaidto the central cartouche and keyhole escutcheon with the original mother ofpearl.

Theinterior lid fixed tooled backing board and deep buttoned silk panel areoriginal to the box.This has some wear with fray with some where on thegilt tooled edge. However it is nice to keep this with the box to appreciateits age.

Thebottom tray is also original to the box. The dividers, two clips and velvet arenot original.

Thetray is a good fit, and its great to have this in place. It does show signs ofwear but is in pretty good order for its years.

I’MPRETTY SURE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Boxretains the original lock, top catch and hinges.

Suppliedwith a silk tassel and Victorian key that sadly does not lock the box and issupplied and described as being decorative only.

YOUONLY GET THIS TYPE OF QUALITY FROM US.

Comprisinga wonderful interior finished to a superb standard thatcompliments. This has been relined in expensive velvet material of the highestquality which almost matches the original deep buttoned silk backing.

Allthe added dividers within the tray can easily be repositioned or removed ifdesired. The tray can hold many rings in an upright position.

Underneaththe original tray and beneath the base of the box has also been lined in velvetto stop any scratches to other surfaces.

A superb box, andwould make a fantastic gift.
