This Maxfield Parrish print is the RUBAIYAT. The colors are beautiful. It belonged to my husband before I met him. I do not have the history of it. I am assuming it was originally purchased at Gump\'s of San Francisco. It has hung continuously on the same wall in our house for over 40 years. It was not connected to the existing wire but rather hung on a woven Victorian style cord that attached to picture molding.
When taken down for this listing, I was surprised to see that there were only 3 small nails holding the back and print in place. It is somewhat loose in the frame. I only gave it a light dusting and it could use a little more cleaning.
It measures approximately 32 1/2\" x 10 1/2\". The edge of the frame is about 1/2\" wide, excluding the raised interior part of the frame.
The right front corner reads: (c) 1917 C.A. CRANE, CLEVELAND.
The lower back right corner has a sticker/label that reads: GUMP\'S 266 POST ST. SAN FRANCISCO. It is fragile, torn and \"curled\". There is also a pencil number: 128382.
There are some blemishes on the print at the left, lower side. I had never noticed them before. They show white.
There is some wear to the finish on the frame, mostly at the top edge. At the left lower corner, the frame is slightly separated. Under the glass, at the left front side, there is a tiny piece of what I imagine is paper.
