Thisis a superb British or Canadian D-Day pattern, “Turtle”, very early MKIV Helmet.
Theouter shell shows retains almost all its jungle green finish and, overall, thehelmet is in superb, complete condition for its age.
Thereare some stampings on the inside of the shell which looks like they could bethe owner’s army number and the liner is clearly stamped 1945 and what lookslike “FFI”.
Theliner is in very good condition although one “tongue” of the oilskin is missing.The chin-strap has (as usual) lost some of its elasticity.
Interestingly, the topfixing stud rivet has been painted with white paint for recognition?? And theleft-hand side has the remains of a corporal’s stripe insignia in the samepaint.
