A 100% original WW2 D Day Zones of France silk escape map.
The map is in excellent condition with good colours and detail no fading or crease wear.
There seems to have been only one ever WW2 Escape map of this type. Goes under the title ZONES OF FRANCE. also has the words Second Edition.
The first edition must have been the protype as none of a First edit has been
seen around.
Printed on the lower left hem \" I.S.( ( WEA) MAR 44.
All maps were dated thus Mar 44 for March 1944 9 3to 4 months prior the DDay landings. These were made for SOE,OSS, and RAF/USAF Aircre as the British and American Airborne in the frantic run up to D Day.showing the latest information on France.
Of interest is the inset an escaper areas to avoid.including the heavily patrolled and manned costal areas.
Also shown is the \"Northern Forofferden Zone\" which was the Pyreneese Mountain Border between France and Spain.
