$520.00

Offered here is a nice original not-to-be-missedopportunity for a comprehensive exposure to the “walkie talkie” of WW2 fame. These items have been in a private collection sincethe 1960’s and are true period pieces. Aspictured, you will be receiving the following:

Two nearly complete BC 611 unitsin excellent, original condition

One supplemental spare componentboard

One original copy of TM 11-235dated May 1945

One US made 103 ½ volt battery,BA 38

The first unit, serial 12584 is a“D” version, and complete in every respect – nothing missing (exceptbatteries), nothing broken. It is setfor 4540 cycles

The second unit, marked 4848 is a“C” version, and complete except for batteries and the anchor pin for thecarrying strap. The rubber talk-listenbulb shows signs of age and is slightly cracked, as shown. It is set for 4540 cycles as well.

A spare component board isincluded complete with vacuum tubes. This would make a good bench test unit for troubleshooting the sets oras a spare for components. It iscomplete and intact except the “off-on” antenna switch is broken and must bemanually operated at the base of the set. An epoxy fix could alleviate thisshortcoming. All units evidence thevarnish-like fungus proofing normally found on these units for warm weatheroperation.

TM 11-235 needs nointroduction. In it you will findoperational and maintenance instructions, wiring diagrams and spare partslists, test procedures and special testing fixtures. A comprehensive index ofassociated manuals for this unit is included in the text.

An original example of BA38 isincluded. Though believed to be of postwar manufacture, it was nevertheless made for use specifically in theseunits. Battery evidences NO signs ofleakage.

We have heard stories of thesebeing used by not only the military after the war, but also by constructioncontractors and others who had the need for wireless communication in thefield. The Burgess company continued tomake these batteries well into the 1950s.Our specimen still even produces approx.. 22 volts when tested !

USPS insured economy shipping of$48.65 available for the Continental 50 US states only. Please inquire forother destinations at least 48 hours prior to end of sale.
