-true WW2 RUSSET BROWN color original leather dye....leather band is very GOOD!...
still relatively thick, soft and supple....BUT STILL HANDLE WITH EXTREME CARE!
(look at ALL images below!)-has the type-3 buckle.....lid has the pronounced up curved-lip, roller on the \'clamp-down\' edge.
(green paint finish on buckle is 90% present)
there are no mfgr markings on buckle....
-has the embossed parallel lines bordering the leather strap, no mfgr ink stampings inside band
-has the green phosphated finish on ALL the hardware (buckle, triangle clips, rivets)..
-UNITED CARR mfgr marked on both rivet bottoms
-has very slight faint bite marks on the leather where the buckle edge clamped down....-green finished hardware to the triangular stud clips and other holding rivet head-is 100% US mfgr US GI issue....you will need this to complete your WW2 helmet
strongly suggest you do not \'lip\' it over the steel pot\'s brim as was commonly done.-conditon is as described
