WWI 2 page letter,1 page missing, from a sailor/officer at Base #7 US Naval Forces Flag Office Brest France.Only two pages. No envelope, the first page is missing, no date on the letter. Folding several ways, marks, many small holes, particularly on the page numbered '3' and small tears. Writing in pencil, back of the '3' numbered page three sketches of a young woman and written on the back "Duane's Letter." Signed "Your Brother Mick" and address "US Naval Forces Base #7 Flag Office Brest France To Comdr Hatch." Water mark on the paper is Capital Bond. The first page is missing and there is no envelope. Letter to sister beg, she got "canned", he wants to know if his mother has enough money to run things, says the navy teaches him about the value of money and when he gets home he will save, says he got mother's letter and sure did make him feel good, there is more. The pencil writing is faded but can be read with effort. Just a short letter to a sister, likely in response to her letter. Heavy wear, with damage. Will ship folded.
