I believe this to be a WWI or Transitional Period U.S. Navy Uniform or a Army Uniform. I received information from an fellow er who thinks this may be a 1930s U.S. Army Uniform with Navy buttons.

It is in excellent condition. Any information will be added to this description.

The uniform is a summer tan 4-pocket, 4-button up front jacket. The buttons are brass and have an anchor surrounded by a circle of small oak leaves. The buttons are 2-piece, no manufactures markings on the back side and held to the jacket by separate wire cotter-type pins. The quartermaster tag is attached, but is washed out and not readable. The collar and lapels have holes with metal grommets where the collar devices attach. The left shoulder has 4 metal attachments where a shoulder patch snapped and secured a unit patch. Near the cuff of the right sleeve is stitch marks where a round patch attached. The inside has a unit number and name. The inside of the jacket has two metal grey buttons that say (USA). I have seen these types of grey buttons on WWI cavalry trousers. When buttoned, it measures 16 inches from shoulder seam to shoulder seam, 24 inches from shoulder seam to end of sleeve cuff, 18 inches from arm pit to end of sleeve cuff, 18 ½ inches from arm pit to arm pit, and 28 inches from back on collar to bottom of jacket.

I have taken pictures to show the details in hopes someone can identify this jacket. This jacket was found as is at an estate sale. Nothing was removed and no other pins or paper work was with the jacket. There are no holes, tears, rips, repairs or stains. All buttons are present.
